The Son

A son born to a mortal mother

And God as His father.

A hero over death and hell

Who washed the feet of his friends.

Able to control the seas

And heal the sightless.

Defeated devils

And blessed little children.

Walked on water

And obeyed the will of his Father.

Resisted temptation

And carried His cross.

A baby born in a stable.

A gift from our Father.

Not a myth.

Not a Greek God.

The Son of the Eternal God.

Who descended below all

To carry my grief

To wipe my tears

To succor my pain

To cleanse my sins

To hold me in His arms.

The son of a mortal mother

With God as His father

That all can live again with Him.
