Love at first sight, rags to riches, a best-selling novel dug out of the slush pile. These ideas are the stuff of dreams and legend, but rarely reality. Or at least that’s my hope. I fell in love with my husband over time, we work hard for an income and try to spend it wisely, and my novel wasn’t snatched up by the first editor or agent. Or the next or the next (up to five rejections now). I’m counting on persistence and discipline because action makes belief a reality.
